How Wika solar water heater works ?
Wika solar water heater main component's in residential syetems are contains of a solar collector panel and a container tank on the top. The top of collector panel is covered by glass cover. The collector panel absorbs the solar heat and transfer it through small copper pipe and warm the fresh water.
The container tank is function as a "Thermos" or water insulated container, which it is able to reduce the heatlosses. When the sun shines, the collector panel absorbs sun heat and transfer it to the fresh water through copper pipe. As this process continously works, we have hot water in the insulated tank.
The main principal of this mechanism is "Thermosiphon". According to Wikipedia, Thermosiphon is a method of passive heat exchange based on natural convection which circulates liquid in a vertical closed-loop circuit without requiring a conventional pump. The process starts as the water in the collector panel heated (4). It flows to upper side of tank (3). At the same time, the colder fresh water are pushed into the collector panel. This process are countinously work and will increase the water temperature in tank. This flowing water mechanism is dynamicly flow, without any additional water pump needed.
